The Restoration of the Two Statues
           from the National Assembly

In 1989 Themis and Pallas, the two enormous statues that had adorned the façade of the National Assembly building in Paris since 1812 had been seriously damaged by the elements and were replaced by copies.

The urban community of Cherbourg inherited the originals and asked  Pierre Bataille to restore the statues.  This proved to be a real puzzle of reconstruction which lasted 5 months.
